Iranian President Meets Zardari, Shehbaz in Pakistan

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian met President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif during his visit to Pakistan. The meetings focused on bilateral relations, regional connectivity, and economic cooperation. Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening regional peace and stability.

According to the Presidency, the leaders discussed a wide range of issues related to Pakistan-Iran relations. These included political coordination, economic cooperation, and regional security concerns. The talks highlighted a shared interest in expanding diplomatic and economic engagement.

President Zardari welcomed Pezeshkian’s visit and described it as a sign of strong bilateral commitment. He also reaffirmed Pakistan’s support for Iran’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. The president emphasized Pakistan’s consistent stance in favour of dialogue and diplomacy.

The Iranian president appreciated Pakistan’s efforts in promoting peace and dialogue in the region. He thanked Islamabad for its constructive role during recent regional tensions. Pezeshkian said Iran values its relations with Pakistan across political, economic, and security areas.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also held a separate meeting with the Iranian president. Senior officials including Ishaq Dar and Field Marshal Asim Munir were present during the talks. Both sides agreed to continue engagement through delegation-level discussions.
