Pakistan has extended its airspace ban on Indian aircraft until August 24, according to the Pakistan Airports Authority. The decision affects Indian airlines, military aircraft, and leased planes. The continued restriction forces Indian carriers to use longer international routes, increasing operational costs.
According to a Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) issued on Saturday, the restriction will remain effective until 11:59pm Pakistan Standard Time on August 24. The order applies to all Indian-registered aircraft. It also covers planes operated, owned, or leased by Indian airlines and operators, including military flights.
Pakistan first imposed the airspace restrictions after heightened tensions with India following the 2025 Pahalgam attack in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir. Since then, authorities have renewed the measure several times. Moreover, the latest extension confirms that the restrictions will continue for another month.
