Kyle Richards celebrates four years of alcohol-free life

Published on: July 21, 2026 4:22 PM

Kyle Richards has celebrated four years of sobriety, describing the milestone as one of the achievements that has made her proudest. The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star shared an emotional message on social media, reflecting on her decision to stop drinking and explaining how the choice has transformed both her physical and mental well-being. She said reaching the four-year mark exceeded her own expectations and inspired her to encourage others considering a similar path.

Richards revealed that she gave up alcohol to improve her health during a difficult period when she did not feel her best emotionally or physically. She admitted many people enjoyed her outgoing personality when she drank, but some reacted negatively after she stopped. However, she refused to let those opinions influence her decision and remained committed to living a healthier and happier lifestyle.

The television personality explained that she soon realised she could still enjoy life and social events without alcohol while avoiding the difficult feelings she often experienced the following day. She added that people who questioned her decision were often more affected by their own feelings than by her personal choice. Instead, she focused on the positive changes she experienced and the peace that came with her new lifestyle.

Furthermore, Richards said she noticed a surprising sense of calm after giving up alcohol, even while facing some of life’s most challenging moments. She explained that situations which previously caused anxiety became easier to handle, allowing her to respond with greater confidence and emotional balance. She also described looking healthier as an added benefit rather than the main reason behind her decision.

Alongside her heartfelt message, Richards posted a new selfie wearing a cowboy hat and thanked supporters who had encouraged her throughout her journey. She stressed that sobriety may not be the right choice for everyone but urged people not to feel pressured into drinking simply to entertain others. Looking back on the past four years, she said she remains happy, grateful, and proud of the life-changing decision she made.
