ISLAMABAD: Jamaat-e-Islami Chairman Sirajul Haq has on Monday announced support for Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) candidate Raja Zafarul Haq for Senate chairmanship.
Speaking to the media, Siraj announced JI’s support for PML-N candidate, saying that Zafarul Haq is a strong supporter of the ideology of Pakistan and that he is an ‘honest’ politician.
The party, however, is yet to make a decision regarding support for the candidate for the deputy chairman seat.
The contest for Senate chairmanship is between Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) backed independent candidate from Balochistan, Sadiq Sanjrani and PML-N’s Zafarul Haq.
