Pakistan favourites to win Cricket World Cup 2019: Fakhar Zaman

Published on: August 26, 2018 3:10 PM

Pakistani cricket-star Fakhar Zaman stated that Pakistan are favourites for the Cricket World Cup 2019 as the team has been performing brilliantly well in the recent series.

In an interview with Sky Sports, Zaman said that the way the current team has being playing and the results which they have produced are the proof that Pakistan can win the Cricket World Cup 2019.

The 28-years-old cricketer became the fastest batsman to score 1,000 runs and also the first Pakistani to score the first double century in ODI history recently.

Zaman said that he felt honoured and happy after breaking legendary West Indian batsman Sir Vivian Richards’ record of fastest to 1,000 runs during the series against Zimbabwe.

He further added that his main focus is to do well in the upcoming Asia Cup at the moment as it’s far too early to start planning for the World Cup 2019.

The Asia Cup is to start from September 15. The competition features six teams including Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan and a sixth team which is subjected to qualification.
