Pak Army playing crucial role towards Pak-China lasting relationship, says Jinping

BEIJING:  Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa, on special invitation called on Chinese President Xi Jinping on Wednesday.

Chinese President XI Jinping said that Pakistan is our time-tested, iron friend and Pakistan Army played a pivotal role towards this lasting relationship.

The Chinese president appreciated the professionalism of Pakistani amred forces and acknowledged their role towards regional peace and stability.

Jinping said that China shall continue to support Pakistan as a strategic partner.

He said that those who opposed One Belt one Road initiative or China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) shall never succeed as these are initiatives of peace and development not only to China but for region and beyond.

COAS General Bajwa said that Pak Army shall ensure the security of CPEC at all costs and thanked Chinese president for his invitation and appraising the professionalism and contributions of Pakistan armed forces towards regional stability and peace.

Geneal Bajwa said “We need to stay strong to thwart designs of all inimical forces challenging our resolve and we greatly value the Chinese support in this regard.”

The COAS will return home after the completion of his visit tonight.
