Bhutto still alive in hearts and minds of masses: Bilawal

Published on: April 4, 2019 3:35 AM

Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has said the role and contribution of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto after the founder of Pakistan Muhammad Ali Jinnah is vast and exemplary and hence despite that his martyrdom dates back to 40 years, he is alive in hearts and minds of the masses.

“Even the anger of the masses on his cold-blooded judicial assassination is as same and high as it was on his day of martyrdom,” Bilawal said in his message on the 40th death anniversary of the first elected prime minister of Pakistan. While paying rich tribute to him, the PPP chief said at one hand Quaid-e-Azam changed the course of the history and at the other, the Quaid-e-Awam paved way for a democratic revolution and created immense awareness for democracy and its blessings due to which the chauvinist, anti-democracy and radical forces will always find it difficult to impose their anti-democratic agenda or rule over the country. He said that Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto’s immense contributions on the political, diplomatic, economic and international fronts are praiseworthy and thought-provoking.

“Even today, we are waiting to see that the justice is dispensed because Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto was judicially assassinated. A reference that was signed by former president Asif Ali Zardari is still being treated with slackness in corridors of the country’s apex court and despite repeated reminders and demands, the justice has still not been done,” Bilawal said. “The present situation that has prevailed over the country calls for supremacy of the parliament and efforts are required to take the respect of law and the constitution ahead because it is all that revolves around the ideology of Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto,” he added.

Meanwhile, arrangements to observe 40th death anniversary of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto have been finalized. Central gathering of the PPP will be held in Garhi Khuda Bux on Thursday (today). In order to avoid any untoward incident, more than 7,000 policemen have been deployed in Garhi Khuda Bux and Naudero.

Bilawal Bhutto, Asif Ali Zardari and other leaders will be addressing the gathering.

On the other hand, party leaders and supporters are reaching Garhi Khuda Bux to pay rich tribute to their beloved leader. Welcome camps have also been set up in Larkana city, Naudero and Garhi Khuda Bux.
