Merit list discrepancies in medical admissions

Published on: April 13, 2019 2:04 AM

The Admission Board of Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PM&DC) on Friday declared the admissions undertaken and issued by National University of Medical Sciences to be held in abeyance pending review in view of discrepancies in the merit lists.

According to the press release, the merit lists as issued by NUMS for admission to MBBS /BDS programs were found to have discrepancies and to ensure the rights of students on merit these have been placed under urgent and immediate review by the Admission Board.

Meanwhile status quo shall be maintained by all colleges until such time as PM&DC Admission Board has finalized, approved and notified the final admissions under the NUMS admitting programs.

The admission Board of PM&DC has also finalized the admissions of MBBS/BDS from the vacant seats as were remaining on 31st March 2019 for Punjab(University of Health Sciences), KPK (Kyber Medical University) and Sindh (Jinnah Sindh Medical University).

Almost 136 applicants have been adjusted for immediate admission. The applicants are requested to contact the relevant college and finalise their admissions immediately.

The Admission Board of PM&DC has clearly informed that there shall be no further up gradation or addition to the issued lists. If any applicant elects not to avail the seat allocated, the applicant shall not be accommodated further and nor will the resulting vacant seat be filled at the college as admission stand closed for the current academic year. The detail lists of applicants adjusted are available on PM&DC website.
