20 people injured as bus collides with trailer

A road mishap, on Monday, wounded 20 when a passenger bus collided with a trailer in DG Khan. According to sources, the collision took place at Kot Chatta at the Indus Highway, in which twenty passengers in the bus were severely injured.

After getting information about the incident, rescue teams reached the spot; moving the injured to Trauma centre. Five passengers are said to be critically injured.

Police sources maintain the incident took place due to over speeding.

Earlier on Sunday, at least eight people were burnt to death after a fire erupted in a passenger van on GT Road in Jhelum.

Rescue sources had claimed the van was heading towards Rawalpindi from Gujranwala. Four passengers were said to have received burn injuries and were shifted to a nearby hospital.

Federal Minister for Science & Technology Chaudhry Fawad Hussain noted the local administration was fully assisting the victims.

Nevertheless, there could be no alternative to life, he maintained.

In another dismal development, 20 people received injuries when a passenger bus jammed into a trailer near Kot Chattha in DG Khan.

According to sources, the injured had been shifted to Trauma Centre. The incident took place because of overspeeding, they concluded.
