Israel has intensified its military campaign against Iran, claiming responsibility for fresh airstrikes on missile depots, infrastructure, and a nuclear site in the central city of Isfahan. The Israeli government also alleged that its forces killed a senior commander of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).
According to Iranian media and officials, explosions were reported in several cities, including Isfahan, Lenjan, Mobarakeh, and Shahreza. The Isfahan facility targeted is one of Iran’s largest nuclear research complexes. Officials confirmed an attack but stated that there was “no release of hazardous materials.”
Following the blasts, Iranian air defense systems were activated across the region. Press TV also reported that Iranian forces shot down an Israeli drone near the city of Kashan in central Iran.
In the holy city of Qom, Iranian sources said a residential building was hit by an Israeli strike, resulting in the death of a 16-year-old boy and injuries to two others. The attack reportedly targeted a high-value individual.
Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz claimed that Saeed Izadi, commander of the Quds Force’s Palestine Corps, was killed in a targeted strike on an apartment in Qom. Izadi was said to be responsible for overseeing support to Hamas during earlier stages of the conflict. However, the IRGC has not confirmed his death.
In a separate statement, the Israeli military also claimed the killing of another senior IRGC officer, Amin Pour Jodakhi, who had taken on an expanded role in the IRGC’s operations following the death of a senior commander on June 13. Israeli authorities labeled the latest assassinations as major victories for their intelligence and air forces.
