PPP denies any deal with PML-N in Balochistan

Published on: October 25, 2025 1:54 PM

Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Shazia Marri has strongly denied any agreement for a PML-N government in Balochistan. She said reports suggesting such a deal are incorrect and misleading. Marri emphasized that all decisions regarding government programs should be transparent, not made behind closed doors. She stressed that party members must participate in assemblies to maintain quorum and allow proceedings to continue smoothly.

Marri added that when Shahbaz Sharif expressed his desire to become Prime Minister, some discussions took place with PPP. However, she clarified these discussions did not include any power-sharing arrangement for Balochistan. The PPP leader explained that during a party meeting, members raised concerns about the government. President Asif Ali Zardari reassured them that only existing agreements would be implemented.

Recently, rumors of a two-and-a-half-year power-sharing deal in Balochistan gained attention. Some PML-N members claimed they were aware of such an arrangement from their central leadership. Nevertheless, PPP leaders insist no such agreement exists from their side. They maintain the party plans to complete its full five-year term in the province.

Marri also criticized secret decision-making on development projects. She said bypassing assemblies and party members undermines democracy. According to her, transparency ensures accountability and public trust in government programs. She urged all stakeholders to respect democratic norms and act responsibly for Balochistan’s stability.

In conclusion, PPP confirmed it will serve a full term in Balochistan without yielding power to PML-N. The party stressed open discussions, internal consensus, and adherence to constitutional processes. Marri’s remarks aim to clarify political confusion and reassure citizens about the province’s governance.
