Shehbaz congratulates Sohail Afridi, pledges full support to KP government

CHITRAL: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif congratulated Sohail Afridi on becoming Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s chief minister. He also offered full support to the provincial government. Sharif made the remarks during the groundbreaking ceremony of the Danish School in Chitral. He praised the local community for being educated and cultured despite limited educational facilities.

The prime minister said the Danish School is his personal gift to Chitral. He highlighted that it will provide talented children with the best educational opportunities free of cost. Sharif added that the school fulfills the community’s long-held dream of modern education. He emphasized that extending facilities to remote areas is a government priority.

Sharif underlined that federal resources are being used to provide services in far-flung regions. He stated that it is the state’s duty to ensure equal opportunities and facilities for all citizens. The prime minister described Chitral as a beautiful region and commended its people for their sacrifices for Pakistan.

Commenting on Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sharif praised the bravery and patriotism of its residents. He said their efforts for progress and unity are exemplary and must be remembered. He urged Chief Minister Sohail Afridi to focus on development and eliminating terrorism for the province’s prosperity.

Earlier, Federal Minister for Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, and State Affairs Engineer Amir Maqam expressed gratitude for the prime minister’s presence in Chitral. He described Sharif as an excellent administrator, skilled economist, and a leader who ensures inclusive governance. The ceremony highlighted both educational development and strengthened federal-province cooperation.
