MQM-P pays tribute to soldiers defending Pakistan’s borders

Published on: March 9, 2026 12:59 AM

The Federal Education Minister and Convener of Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui has paid tribute to the soldiers of Pakistan’s armed forces who are defending the country’s western borders from terrorists and their patrons.

Speaking at a rally organized in support of the martyrs and the soldiers, he deplored that several decades long hospitality of Pakistan’s people was being paid back by patronizing terrorists who were carrying out terrorist attacks on innocent people in the country.

“We welcomed them with hospitality but they brought along terrorists and weapons,” he bewailed.

Tacitly referring to the country’s support for Afghan Taliban, he said as soon as they came to power in Afghanistan they started backing terrorists.

“This ongoing war isn’t against Afghanistan or its people but it’s against enemies of Afghanistan and the agents of India in that country,” he observed.

He contended that such elements could not be considered to be proponents of religion, rather they were only proxies of India in a Muslim country.

Siddiqui expressed sadness that around 100,000 Pakistanis had embraced martyrdom in the war against terror.

MQM-P’s central leader Shabir Ahmed Qaimkhani, Sindh Organizing Committee’s In Charge Saleem Razzak and Hyderabad chapter organizer Zafar Ahmed Siddiqui, among others, also expressed his views on the occasion.
