Memon praises PPP electoral victory

Published on: June 24, 2026 12:06 AM

Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon on Tuesday congratulated Advocate Amjad Hussain on his election as Chief Minister of Gilgit-Baltistan. He praised the development as a strong endorsement of the Pakistan Peoples Party’s leadership and public support. The statement highlights the party’s growing political influence in the region.

Memon said the Pakistan Peoples Party’s success in Gilgit-Baltistan reflects public trust in its policies. He added that the result demonstrates confidence in the party’s democratic struggle and pro-people agenda. According to him, party workers played a key role in achieving the electoral outcome.

He said the PPP has emerged as a significant political force in Gilgit-Baltistan. He credited the party’s leadership and grassroots mobilisation for strengthening its position. He also described the victory as a continuation of the party’s public service narrative.

Memon further expressed hope that Chief Minister Amjad Hussain would address development challenges in the region. He said governance should focus on public welfare, prosperity, and resolution of key issues. He added that the party remains committed to supporting underprivileged communities.

He also reaffirmed that the PPP has historically advocated for democratic values and citizens’ rights. He said the party will continue its political and social efforts in the future. The statement comes as political activity intensifies in Gilgit-Baltistan following the leadership change.
