‘Game of Thrones’ final season will give closure to fans, says Iain Glen

Published on: March 15, 2018 7:08 PM

NEW DELHI: Unexpected twists and turns keep fans glued to the Game of Thrones TV series in an all-time high, and the news of its up and coming final season making rounds on social media, will be no different. Iain Glen, who plays Ser Jorah Mormont of the globally successful TV series says that its final season will match up to the audience’s expectations – but may not leave everyone happy.

Game of Thrones started back in 2011 and concludes with season 8, which is set to open in 2019. Glen says that the fans will just have to wait and watch for the many surprises in store for fans.

When asked if the finale will give closure to fans, Glen replied, “Yes, I hope. I can’t tell but I am one of the few people who have read the script and I know the ending.”

“When I read it, I thought it was rather brilliant. I am a bit of a fan of the series as well so it satiated my expectation and hopes. You know with something this big like Game of Thrones, you cannot please everyone,” he added.

Glen further went on to say that the writers have done an amazing job throughout, with the storyline that paints a whimsical world of dragons and White Walkers on one hand, while staying close to reality on the other hand, as it shows how relationships cannot be trusted when it comes to ruling a kingdom in the fight for authority, prestige, and power.

The show is about the thrilling quest to claim the Iron Throne, and it is this intricate and surprising tale that keeps one hooked to the show. Its story is based on George RR Martin’s novels and has indeed, become a global phenomenon.

Glen explained in regards to his character: “I always found a romantic streak in him. The makers never decided to write it in the series and I can understand why because everything about Jorah gets revealed onscreen in the story we have already seen. And the rest, we shall see.”

He ended with a tease, sharing, “There may be surprises but you will just have to see what happens up ahead.”
