
Pakistan will continue engaging with working groups involved in the United States-Iran dialogue, with technical talks expected to resume next week. Foreign Office spokesperson Tahir Hussain Andrabi said the international community had acknowledged Pakistan’s constructive role in facilitating the process. Speaking during a media briefing in Islamabad, Andrabi said the next round of technical discussions could begin on Tuesday, although Monday or Wednesday remained possible. He did not disclose the location of the upcoming meetings. The talks are part of a broader diplomatic framework aimed at advancing understanding between Washington and Tehran.
The spokesperson said Pakistan remains committed to supporting dialogue and peaceful conflict resolution. He noted that Islamabad would continue working with relevant parties to help sustain momentum in the negotiation process. According to Andrabi, Pakistan stands ready to play a positive role in promoting stability across the region.
Andrabi also highlighted the recent visit of Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian to Pakistan at the invitation of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. During the visit, the Iranian leader held separate meetings with President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz. The discussions focused on bilateral ties and issues of mutual interest.
The spokesperson said the visit further strengthened relations between Pakistan and Iran. Both countries reaffirmed their commitment to expanding cooperation in multiple sectors and maintaining close diplomatic engagement. The meetings also underscored the importance of regional collaboration amid ongoing diplomatic developments.
