Sanam Jung questions repeated e-challans after receiving six fines in a month

Pakistani actress and television host Sanam Jung has expressed frustration after receiving six traffic e-challans within a month, claiming that some of the fines were issued for violations she did not commit.

In a video shared on Instagram, the actress revealed that she had returned to Pakistan only a month ago and was surprised by the number of electronic traffic fines issued against her vehicle during that period.

Sanam said the first challan, which was issued for using a mobile phone while driving, was justified. She admitted that she was talking on the phone at the time and accepted responsibility, adding that video evidence supported the violation.

However, she questioned the remaining fines, saying they were issued for offences she insists she did not commit. Among them was a challan for allegedly not wearing a seat belt.

The actress said she always fastens her seat belt before starting the car, describing it as a habit she developed while living abroad. She maintained that she never drives without wearing one and was puzzled by the repeated penalties.

Sanam also shared that the frequent challans had left her stressed, adding that her father was upset over the situation. She wondered why she was being fined for violations she believes never occurred and called for greater accuracy in the electronic traffic enforcement system.

Her comments have sparked discussion on social media, with many users sharing similar experiences regarding e-challans and calling for improved verification mechanisms before fines are issued. Others stressed the importance of following traffic rules while encouraging authorities to address any technical or administrative errors in the system.

The actress did not specify whether she had formally challenged the disputed fines with the relevant authorities. Traffic departments generally provide motorists with procedures to contest e-challans if they believe a violation has been incorrectly recorded.
