Man in Larkana sentenced to 25 years in prison over rape, murder of minor

Published on: August 11, 2018 7:16 PM

LARKANA: An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) on Saturday sentenced Siraj Kalhoro to 25 years in prison on charges of sexually assaulting and murdering a 9-year-old in Larkana.

Kalhoro was ordered to pay a fine of Rs 1 lac, failure of which will result in a one-year extension in his prison sentence.

The incident took place on November 13 in 2017 in the limits of Naundero police station.

Dead body of the 9-year-old was found from a pond, while tests later revealed that she had been subjected to sexual assault before being murdered.

The victim’s father told media that he would have been happier if the convict was handed a death sentence, but he was happy with the court’s verdict.
