Tehran threatens regional infrastructure after US warning

Published on: July 16, 2026 4:27 PM

Iran has warned it will strike regional infrastructure if the United States attacks Iranian facilities. The warning came after renewed threats attributed to US President Donald Trump. The escalation raises concerns for regional security and countries hosting strategic infrastructure.

Brigadier General Ebrahim Zolfaghari, spokesperson for Iran’s Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, delivered the warning through Iranian state media. He said any US attack on Iranian infrastructure would trigger a forceful military response. Iranian officials described the warning as a deterrent against possible action.

According to Zolfaghari, Iran’s armed forces would target infrastructure across the region if Washington carried out its threats. He claimed regional facilities would face severe destruction under Iran’s military response. However, no specific countries or installations were identified in the statement.

The remarks come amid heightened tensions between Tehran and Washington over regional security. Both sides have exchanged strong statements in recent weeks, increasing fears of wider instability. Analysts continue monitoring developments for signs of further escalation.
