He pledged the strongest possible protection while addressing the Pakistan-China Pharmaceutical and Healthcare B2B Investment Conference in Islamabad. The assurance comes as Pakistan seeks to strengthen bilateral investment and deepen economic cooperation.
Speaking at the conference, the prime minister said Pakistan would leave no stone unturned to ensure the safety of Chinese citizens. He also witnessed the signing of healthcare, biotechnology, and pharmaceutical agreements between Pakistani and Chinese companies. The deals are collectively valued at nearly $440 million and are expected to boost investment and industrial collaboration.

The remarks followed recent government efforts to enhance security around Chinese-backed projects after militant attacks disrupted supply routes near the Saindak copper and gold mine in Balochistan. Chinese nationals and infrastructure projects have repeatedly been targeted in terrorist attacks over recent years. Authorities continue counterterrorism operations to improve security across sensitive regions.
Meanwhile, PM Shehbaz described the newly signed agreements as another step toward advancing CPEC 2.0. He said the memorandums would be converted into practical projects that promote investment, technology transfer, and industrial growth. The prime minister also described China as one of Pakistan’s most trusted and dependable partners.
