Araghchi criticises Israel’s role in US politics

Published on: July 17, 2026 5:10 PM

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has accused Israel of trying to influence US foreign policy and domestic politics. He said Israel was attempting to push Washington toward a conflict that could not be won. The remarks come as tensions between Iran, Israel, and the United States remain high.

In a post on X, Araghchi questioned repeated warnings about foreign influence in the United States while alleging that Israel was actively shaping American decision-making. He claimed Israel was seeking to draw the US administration into another war despite the potential consequences. The Iranian minister did not provide evidence to support the allegations.

Araghchi also referred to a Time magazine report claiming that former Trump campaign manager Brad Parscale was involved in an Israeli influence campaign targeting supporters of the Make America Great Again movement. He cited the report as an example of what he described as Israeli efforts to influence American politics.

Furthermore, the Iranian foreign minister alleged that Israel was using American taxpayers’ money to silence its critics inside the United States. He claimed these activities would eventually be exposed but did not offer additional details. US and Israeli officials had not immediately responded to his remarks.

The latest comments reflect Iran’s continued criticism of Israel’s role in US policymaking amid ongoing regional tensions. Such allegations have frequently emerged during periods of heightened conflict in the Middle East. Independent verification of Araghchi’s claims was not immediately available.
